Ginnifer Goodwin is an American actress best known for her versatile performances in television and film, including her iconic role as Snow White in Once Upon a Time.

Born Jennifer Michelle Goodwin on May 22, 1978, in Memphis, Tennessee, she grew up in a creative household—her mother was an educator and her father a musician and recording studio owner. After graduating from Lausanne Collegiate School in 1996, she pursued acting at Boston University’s School for the Arts, earning a BFA in 2001, and further honed her craft at prestigious institutions such as the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art and the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts. Goodwin’s career took off with roles in films like Mona Lisa Smile (2003) and Walk the Line (2005), but she gained widespread recognition as Margene Heffman in HBO’s Big Love (2006–2011). Her breakout television success came with ABC’s fantasy drama Once Upon a Time (2011–2018), where she played Mary Margaret Blanchard/Snow White, cementing her status as a fan favorite. She also voiced the optimistic rabbit police officer Judy Hopps in Disney’s Zootopia (2016) and its 2025 sequel. Beyond her career, Goodwin married actor Josh Dallas in 2014, with whom she has two children. Known for her charm and emotional depth on screen, she continues to be celebrated as one of Hollywood’s most engaging performers.
