Thriller Manju, born Mailasandra Hanumappa Manjunatha Reddy, is a celebrated figure in Kannada cinema, renowned for his fearless stunt work, martial arts expertise, and dynamic contributions as an actor, director, and stunt choreographer. Raised in Bangalore, Karnataka, he developed a passion for martial arts at a young age, which became the foundation of his career in films. Entering the industry in the 1980s, he quickly earned recognition for his daring stunts and unique action choreography, bringing a raw, realistic style to Kannada movies. His breakthrough came with the cult classic Police Story (1996), which he directed and choreographed, cementing his reputation as one of the most innovative action filmmakers in South India.
Over the decades, Thriller Manju has worked across Kannada, Telugu, and Tamil cinema, both as an actor and behind the camera, contributing to films such as Shhh (1993), One Man Army (1998), and Police No. 1 (2011).
