Story

Nayyi Navelli is an upcoming Hindi fantasy family entertainer starring Yami Gautam Dhar in the lead role. Directed by Balaji Mohan, the film is scheduled to release in cinemas across India on October 16, 2026, coinciding with the Dussehra festival. The story is set in Meerut and follows a picture-perfect bride whose arrival transforms a chaotic household into what appears to be a peaceful and happy family.

However, the family's newfound harmony takes an unexpected turn when her brother-in-law becomes suspicious of her unusual behaviour and begins to believe that she may actually be a daayan, or witch. The film combines fantasy, comedy, family drama, humour and supernatural elements, giving Yami Gautam an unusual character unlike her recent roles.

Nayyi Navelli is presented by Amazon MGM Studios and produced by Aanand L Rai and Himanshu Sharma under Colour Yellow Productions. The screenplay and dialogues are written by Divy Nidhi Sharma, while Himanshu Sharma has developed the story. Music is composed by G. V. Prakash Kumar. The project marks director Balaji Mohan's first Hindi film and the first collaboration between Amazon MGM Studios and Colour Yellow Productions. With its festive Dussehra release, supernatural premise and family-oriented storytelling, the film is positioned as a theatrical entertainer for audiences of different age groups.
