Story

Baaghi: A Rebel for Love is a romantic action drama directed by Deepak Shivdasani and produced by Nitin Manmohan. The film marked the debut of actress Nagma and was one of Salman Khan’s early successes, cementing his image as a rising Bollywood star. The story follows Saajan Sood (Salman Khan), the son of a strict army colonel, who falls in love with Kajal (Nagma), a young woman forced into prostitution by circumstances. Their love faces opposition from society and Saajan’s family, leading him to rebel against norms and fight for Kajal’s dignity. The film explores themes of love, sacrifice, and defiance against oppressive structures. With powerful performances by Salman Khan and Nagma, and strong supporting roles by Shakti Kapoor, Kiran Kumar, and Mohnish Behl, the movie struck a chord with audiences. The music by Anand–Milind, featuring songs like Tap Tap Tapori and Saajan Saajan Teri Dulhan, became popular hits. Baaghi was praised for its emotional depth and action sequences, and it remains a memorable film from the early 1990s Bollywood era.
