Story

Directed by Laxman Utekar, Chhaava is an epic historical action drama based on the Marathi novel Chhava by Shivaji Sawant. The film tells the story of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj (played by Vicky Kaushal), the brave son of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, who rose to power after his father’s death in 1680. The narrative depicts Sambhaji’s battles against the Mughal emperor Aurangzeb (played by Akshaye Khanna), highlighting his courage, leadership, and resilience in defending the Maratha Empire. Rashmika Mandanna plays the female lead. With music by A. R. Rahman and produced by Dinesh Vijan under Maddock Films, the film combines grandeur, patriotism, and emotional depth.
