Actor and model Rohullah Mehdi, who appeared alongside Shahid Kapoor in the 2025 action thriller Deva, has reportedly been arrested by the Kashimira Police Crime Branch in connection with an alleged drug trafficking case in Mumbai. Police reportedly seized 28 grams of MD, valued at around ₹5.60 lakh, during the operation.
According to reports, the investigation began after police received information about an alleged drug network operating through social media platforms in the Mumbai region. Authorities reportedly used a decoy customer as part of the operation before making arrests.
Police reportedly intercepted an associate near the Dahisar Check Naka area in connection with an alleged drug transaction. During questioning, the associate allegedly provided information that led investigators to Mehdi. The actor was subsequently traced to a studio in Malad, where he was reportedly working, and was arrested.
28 Grams of MD Seized
Reports state that Mehdi and an associate were allegedly found with 28 grams of MD during the police operation. The seized substance has been valued at approximately ₹5.60 lakh.
The case is being investigated by the Kashimira Police Crime Branch, with authorities attempting to establish the wider network behind the alleged drug operation. Investigators are reportedly examining whether additional people were involved and whether the alleged network had connections to other individuals in Mumbai's entertainment industry.
However, no other film-industry personality has been publicly identified as an accused in the case so far. Any alleged involvement of other individuals remains subject to investigation.
Rohullah Mehdi’s Connection to Deva
Rohullah Mehdi is known to Hindi film audiences for his appearance in Deva, which starred Shahid Kapoor in the lead role. Directed by Rosshan Andrrews, the action thriller also featured Pooja Hegde and Pavail Gulati.
Mehdi has also worked in web series and has pursued modelling and acting opportunities in Mumbai. Reports state that he is originally from Budgam district in Jammu and Kashmir and had been living in Goregaon while working in the entertainment industry.
Police Investigation Continues
Following his arrest, Mehdi was reportedly produced before a court and sent to five days of police custody. Investigators are now examining the alleged supply network, including how the drugs were sourced and whether they were supplied to other customers.
