Good news for fans of comedy classics. After months of speculation, uncertainty, and swirling rumours about cast reshuffles, director Anees Bazmee has finally broken his silence. He has officially confirmed that No Entry 2 is very much on track and moving forward.
The sequel to the 2005 blockbuster No Entry which starred Anil Kapoor, Salman Khan, Fardeen Khan, Bipasha Basu, Lara Dutta, and Celina Jaitly—has been eagerly awaited for nearly two decades. However, repeated delays and conflicting reports about the lead cast have left audiences wondering if the project would ever see the light of day.
Addressing these concerns, Bazmee acknowledged the delay but offered a philosophical take on the film's journey. He explained that some projects simply take time to fall into place.
"Kuch filmon ki kundli hoti hai. Main maanta hoon ki kundli hoti hai. Kabhi koi film jaldi ban jaati hai, kabhi der se banti hai. Lekin Inshallah, hum sabki koshish hai ki yeh film bane," the director said.
Translated, Bazmee means that certain films have their own astrological timing. Some are made quickly, while others take longer. But he reassured everyone that the team is trying their best to make the film happen.
The director's statement suggests that the delays are more a matter of timing and scheduling challenges rather than any fundamental problem with the script or production. Reports have previously hinted at difficulties in locking the lead actors' dates, given the star-studded ensemble that a film like No Entry 2 demands.
While Bazmee stopped short of revealing the final cast or a shooting schedule, his choice of words—especially "Inshallah" and "kundli"indicates a patient yet optimistic outlook. He appears confident that when the time is right, the film will come together.
For now, fans can breathe a sigh of relief. No Entry 2 has not been shelved. It is alive, being worked upon, and very much on the director's radar. The comedy of errors that made the original a timeless entertainer may soon return to theatres—when the film's "kundli" finally aligns.
