The film had been generating tremendous buzz before release, with strong advance bookings across multiple languages. Despite carrying an A certificate and receiving mixed early reviews, the Yash-starrer managed to translate the pre-release excitement into impressive theatrical numbers.

Toxic Day 1 Worldwide Collection

According to reported trade figures, Toxic earned around ₹101.10 crore net in India on its opening day. Its India gross stood at approximately ₹120.75 crore, while the overseas markets contributed around ₹20 crore, taking the worldwide gross to ₹140.75 crore.

The film reportedly recorded its biggest contributions from the Hindi, Kannada and Telugu markets. The Hindi belt alone contributed around ₹55 crore gross/net reporting varies by source, while Kannada and Telugu also delivered strong numbers.

Toxic vs Jawan and Animal

The ₹140.75-crore global opening puts Toxic ahead of several major Indian blockbusters in terms of reported worldwide Day 1 collections, including Shah Rukh Khan’s Jawan and Ranbir Kapoor’s Animal. Reports also indicate that Yash’s new film surpassed several other major openers on the first-day worldwide chart.

However, Toxic has not beaten Yash’s own KGF: Chapter 2. The 2022 blockbuster reportedly collected around ₹116 crore net in India on its opening day, compared with Toxic’s ₹101.10 crore.

A Strong Comeback for Yash

Toxic marks Yash’s major theatrical return after the phenomenal success of KGF: Chapter 2. The film also features Nayanthara, Kiara Advani, Huma Qureshi, Tara Sutaria and Rukmini Vasanth in key roles.

While reviews have been mixed, the opening demonstrates Yash’s enormous box-office pull and the strength of his pan-India following. The next challenge for Toxic will be maintaining its momentum through the opening weekend.

If the film sustains strong occupancy over the coming days, its ₹140.75-crore worldwide opening could become the foundation for a major theatrical run
