Vishwanath and Sons Day 8 Collection

The film showed a slight improvement on its second Friday. After collecting ₹4.20 crore on Day 7, Vishwanath and Sons increased its Day 8 earnings by around 7.1% to ₹4.50 crore. It was screened across approximately 2,805 shows in India.

The movie's India gross has reached ₹99.52 crore, while its overseas gross stands at around ₹50.25 crore. Combined, the worldwide gross has reached ₹149.77 crore.

Telugu Version Leads on Day 8

Interestingly, the Telugu version continued to perform strongly. On Day 8, it reportedly collected around ₹2.35 crore net, while the Tamil version contributed approximately ₹2.15 crore. Andhra Pradesh and Telangana remained important markets for the film, demonstrating the strength of its family-oriented appeal beyond Tamil Nadu.

The film's overall performance has been helped by audiences responding positively to its emotional family narrative. Suriya, Mamitha Baiju and the supporting cast have been receiving attention for their performances.

Can It Beat Karuppu?

While Vishwanath and Sons is comfortably heading towards the ₹150 crore worldwide mark, matching Suriya's previous blockbuster Karuppu will be considerably more difficult.

Karuppu reportedly finished with a worldwide haul of around ₹310 crore, meaning Vishwanath and Sons would need to more than double its current worldwide earnings to reach that level. The second-weekend performance will therefore be crucial in determining how far the film can ultimately go.

The latest figures indicate that the film has already established itself as a strong theatrical performer. However, its pace has moderated after the impressive opening weekend, and the coming days will reveal whether it can maintain sufficient momentum.

Strong Run Despite New Releases

One encouraging factor is that Vishwanath and Sons managed to register growth on Day 8 despite entering its second week and facing competition from newer releases. Its ₹4.50 crore Friday collection suggests that there is still demand for the film among family audiences.

The film had already crossed ₹100 crore worldwide within its first two days, setting up a strong opening phase.

With ₹149.77 crore worldwide after eight days, the immediate target is now the ₹150 crore milestone. If Saturday and Sunday bring a substantial jump in collections, Vishwanath and Sons could strengthen its position further at the box office.

For now, Suriya's family drama remains on a successful theatrical journey, although crossing the ₹300 crore mark and matching Karuppu's ₹310.12 crore haul appears to be a much tougher challenge.
