The change, being dubbed the #Dhurandhar2 effect, comes in the wake of the massive patriotic success of recent action films, prompting the studio to abandon the original "friendly operation" angle between India and Pakistan.
According to industry sources, Alpha was initially conceived as a progressive spy thriller where agents from India and Pakistan would join forces to combat a common terrorist threat. However, this premise has now been completely scrapped.
