Kuberaa Box Office Collection Day 1: Dhanush-Nagarjuna Thriller Opens with ₹13 Crore in India

The much-anticipated multilingual thriller Kuberaa, starring Dhanush, Nagarjuna Akkineni, and Rashmika Mandanna, has made a solid debut at the Indian box office. Directed by Sekhar Kammula, the film released on June 20, 2025, and earned an estimated ₹13 crore nett on its opening day across all languages.

Telugu Version Leads the Charge
The film performed exceptionally well in the Telugu-speaking regions, recording an impressive 57.36% overall occupancy. Night shows peaked at 78.87%, with Hyderabad leading at 67% occupancy across 530 shows. Other strongholds included Vijayawada (56%), Warangal (67.5%), and Kakinada (69.75%).

Tamil Version Sees Moderate Response
Despite Dhanush’s strong fan base in Tamil Nadu, the Tamil version saw a more modest 33.73% occupancy. Chennai topped the charts with 48.75% from 419 shows, while cities like Coimbatore and Madurai hovered around the 30% mark.

Limited Reach in Other Languages
The Kannada and Hindi versions of Kuberaa had limited traction, with occupancy rates of 6.54% and 6.73% respectively. The Malayalam version saw minimal response at just 2.32%.

Outlook Ahead
While the opening day numbers are slightly lower than Dhanush’s previous release Raayan (₹15.7 crore), Kuberaa has received positive reviews for its performances and emotional depth. With strong word-of-mouth and a weekend ahead, trade analysts expect the film to gain momentum and potentially emerge as a sleeper hit of mid-2025.
