Aamir Khan Makes Tamil Debut as Dahaa in Rajinikanth’s Coolie; First-Look Poster Unveiled

Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan has officially entered the world of Tamil cinema with a bang, as the makers of Coolie unveiled his first-look poster as the mysterious character Dahaa. Directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj and headlined by Rajinikanth, Coolie is one of the most anticipated Indian films of 2025, and Aamir’s inclusion has only amplified the buzz.

The poster, released by Sun Pictures on July 3, showcases Aamir in a rugged, pipe-smoking avatar—complete with tattooed biceps, a black vest, and vintage sunglasses. His intense gaze and gritty styling hint at a powerful presence, despite his role being a special cameo. According to reports, Aamir’s character Dahaa will appear in the film’s climactic sequence, engaging in a high-octane face-off with Rajinikanth in a 15-minute action set piece.

This marks Aamir Khan’s Tamil debut and his first-ever collaboration with Rajinikanth. Speaking about the role, Aamir revealed that he accepted the part without even reading the script, simply because it was a Rajinikanth film. “I’m a huge fan of Rajini sir. When Lokesh told me it’s his film and he wanted me to do a cameo, I said, ‘Done. I’m doing it,’” Aamir shared in a recent interview.

Coolie is set against the backdrop of gold smuggling and is not part of Lokesh’s existing cinematic universe (LCU). The film boasts a massive budget of ₹400 crore and features an ensemble cast including Nagarjuna, Upendra, Shruti Haasan, and Sathyaraj. With Anirudh Ravichander composing the music and Girish Gangadharan handling cinematography, the film promises a grand cinematic experience.

Scheduled for a worldwide IMAX release on August 14, 2025, Coolie is poised to be a pan-Indian spectacle. With Aamir Khan’s electrifying cameo and Rajinikanth’s magnetic screen presence, the film is gearing up for a box office storm—and fans can’t wait to witness this explosive collaboration unfold on the big screen.
