In a shocking incident, actor Mushtaq Khan has been kidnapped in Bijnor, Uttar Pradesh. This follows the recent kidnapping of comedian Sunil Pal. The police have registered a case involving kidnapping, holding hostage, demanding ransom, and threatening to kill.
Reports indicate that Mushtaq Khan was abducted on November 20, 2024, while traveling from Delhi to Meerut for an event. He was forcibly taken from the Delhi-Meerut Highway and held hostage for 12 hours. During this time, the kidnappers demanded a ransom of several crores and withdrew ₹2 lakh from his account.
The police have launched an investigation based on a complaint filed by Khan's event manager, Shivam Yadav. The complaint details how Khan was invited to the event by a person named Rahul Saini, who had given an advance payment of ₹50,000. The kidnappers took Khan to Bijnor, where he was tortured before he managed to escape and seek help from locals.
The Telangana Union of Working Journalists has condemned the attack on media personnel, demanding an unconditional apology from Mohan Babu. As the investigation continues, the incident has raised concerns about the handling of the situation and the security measures in place at the actor's residence.
