Amit Gupta Arrested in Amritsar

According to officials, Gupta was arrested by Mumbai Police in Amritsar in connection with FIR No. 0183/2026, registered at Vikhroli police station on March 17, 2026. He has reportedly been remanded in police custody until August 27.

The allegations stem from a dispute over the partnership structure of the Godrej Air project. According to the FIR, Godrej Properties has alleged that unauthorised changes were made to statutory records filed with the Registrar of Companies (ROC) using allegedly false documents.

What Did Godrej Properties Allege?

The complaint reportedly relates to a Form-3 filed with the ROC on January 14, 2026.

Godrej Properties has alleged that its nominated partner was removed from the LLP's records without authorisation and that another individual was shown as a partner. The company has also questioned an alleged transfer of its 37.5% interest in the LLP.

The FIR invokes provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita relating to alleged forgery, cheating, criminal breach of trust, use of forged documents and criminal conspiracy.

These remain allegations under investigation, and the arrest or registration of an FIR does not establish guilt.

Godrej Air Project Dispute

The Godrej Air project in Sector 85, Gurugram, was developed through a partnership between Godrej Properties and Orris Infrastructure.

The latest case has brought the partnership dispute into sharper focus, with investigators now examining the alleged changes to corporate records and the documents used to make those changes.

Orris Infrastructure had not immediately issued a public comment on Gupta's arrest, according to reports.

Separate Legal Trouble for Orris

Gupta's arrest comes amid other legal challenges involving Orris Infrastructure.

In July 2026, Gurugram Police registered another case against Orris Infrastructure, its directors Vijay Gupta and Amit Gupta, and an authorised signatory over allegations linked to a land collaboration agreement near Manesar. The complainants alleged that plots allotted to them were subsequently transferred to third parties. Police said the matter was under investigation.

The latest arrest has also renewed attention on buyers of Orris' Greenopolis project in Gurugram, with around 1,650 homebuyers reportedly awaiting possession.

What Happens Next?

The immediate focus will be on the police investigation into the Godrej Properties complaint and the allegations concerning the LLP records.

Gupta's custody is currently reported to continue until August 27, after which the investigating authorities and court will determine the next procedural steps.

For now, the case remains at the investigation stage, and the allegations against Gupta and Orris Infrastructure will have to be established through due legal process.
