Story

Clayface is an upcoming American superhero body-horror film based on the iconic DC Comics villain of the same name. Directed by James Watkins from a screenplay by Mike Flanagan and Hossein Amini, the film reimagines the tragic origin of Matt Hagen, an ambitious Hollywood actor whose life changes forever after a brutal attack leaves him horribly disfigured. Desperate to restore his appearance, he undergoes an experimental medical procedure that initially appears successful but soon transforms him into the shape-shifting creature known as Clayface. As his humanity slowly slips away, Hagen embarks on a terrifying path of revenge while struggling with identity, loss, and the consequences of scientific ambition. The official trailer highlights disturbing body-horror imagery, emotional drama, and intense suspense, making it one of DC Studios' darkest films to date. Produced by James Gunn, Peter Safran, Matt Reeves, and Lynn Harris, the film marks DC Studios' first full-fledged horror feature within the new DC Universe.
