The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has announced that metro services will begin at 3:00 AM on April 5, 2026, to facilitate participants of the PNB Soldierathon Marathon. This special arrangement has been made to ensure smooth travel for runners and organizers heading to the event, which is expected to draw thousands of participants across the capital.
The Soldierathon Marathon, supported by Punjab National Bank, is a tribute to the armed forces and aims to raise awareness about their sacrifices. With the event scheduled to start early in the morning, DMRC’s decision to advance metro operations is seen as a crucial step in managing logistics and ensuring timely arrival of participants at the venue.
According to DMRC officials, trains will run from select stations on key lines to accommodate marathon participants. Security and crowd management measures are also being put in place, with coordination between metro staff, event organizers, and local authorities. This initiative highlights DMRC’s commitment to supporting large-scale public events in the city.
The early start of metro services is expected to ease traffic congestion and provide a reliable mode of transport for marathon runners and spectators. By aligning with the Soldierathon Marathon, DMRC not only facilitates smooth operations but also contributes to the spirit of honoring India’s soldiers through community participation.
