The Ministry of Railways has announced a major digital transformation with the launch of a new version of the IRCTC website, designed to revolutionize the way passengers book tickets online. This upgrade marks a significant leap in technology, with booking capacity increasing from 32,000 tickets per minute to an impressive 1.5 lakh+ tickets per minute.
This enhancement comes as part of the government’s broader push to modernize railway services and improve passenger convenience. For years, travelers have faced challenges during peak booking hours, especially when trying to secure tickets for popular routes or festival seasons. The new IRCTC platform aims to eliminate these bottlenecks by offering faster processing speeds, greater stability, and a seamless user experience.
1. Ticket booking capacity increased from 32,000 to 1.5 lakh+ tickets per minute.
2. PNR & train enquiry capacity increased from 4 lakh to 40 lakh+ enquiries per minute.
