Domestic LPG cylinder prices in India were hiked today by ₹29, taking the cost of a standard 14.2-kg cylinder in Delhi to ₹942. This marks the second increase in three months, following a ₹60 hike in March 2026, as global energy volatility and supply disruptions continue to pressure state-run oil companies.
New LPG Cylinder Rates (Effective June 7, 2026)
City Domestic LPG (14.2 kg) Commercial LPG (19 kg)
Delhi ₹942 ₹3,113.50
Mumbai ₹941.50 ₹3,067.50
Kolkata ₹968 ₹3,255.50
Chennai ₹957.50 ₹3,283
Hyderabad ₹994 ₹3,367
Bengaluru ₹944.50 ₹3,198
Why Prices Were Increased
Global energy volatility: Ongoing conflict in West Asia has disrupted supply routes, raising international LPG costs.
Losses for oil companies: State-run OMCs were incurring losses of around ₹703 per domestic cylinder before this revision.
Partial pass-through: The government continues to shield consumers from the full impact, absorbing part of the increase through subsidies and pricing policies.
Impact on Households
Budget strain: The ₹29 hike adds to monthly expenses, especially for middle and lower-income families.
Inflationary pressure: Rising fuel costs are expected to push consumer inflation higher, affecting food and transport prices.
Ujjwala beneficiaries: Under subsidy schemes, eligible households pay an effective ₹642 per cylinder, though the supply cost is now estimated at ₹1,600–₹1,700.
Broader Fuel Price Context
Petrol and diesel: Prices have risen cumulatively by ₹7.50 per litre since mid-May.
