Story

Sharanara Shakti is a historical devotional drama set in the 12th century CE, focusing on the lives and teachings of Basavanna, Channabasavanna, and other Sharanas who spearheaded a spiritual and social revolution in Karnataka. The film highlights the establishment of the Anubhava Mantapa, a unique spiritual parliament where thinkers and saints gathered to discuss philosophy, equality, and devotion. It also portrays the practice of Ishtalinga, the compilation of Vachanabhandara, and the martyrdom of several Sharanas who sacrificed their lives for truth and social justice. Director Dileep V Sharma brings to life the struggles and triumphs of these saints, emphasizing their fight against caste discrimination and their vision of a society built on equality and devotion to Lord Shiva. With powerful performances by Ramesh Pandit, Shruti Hegde, Manjunath Gouda, and Sachi Jain, the film captures the essence of the Bhakti movement in Karnataka. The music by Vinu Manasu adds a devotional depth, while the cinematography and editing highlight the grandeur of the era. Sharanara Shakti is not just a film but a cultural retelling of Karnataka’s spiritual heritage, inspiring audiences to reflect on values of equality, devotion, and sacrifice.
