Visakhapatnam is set to host a historic yoga event on June 21, 2025, as part of International Yoga Day celebrations. With five lakh participants expected to perform yoga together at RK Beach, the event aims to set a Guinness World Record for the largest yoga gathering.

Event Highlights & Preparations

The Andhra Pradesh government, led by Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, has been actively preparing for the event. The Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi, is expected to attend, further elevating the significance of the occasion.

Key Features of the Event:

Largest Yoga Gathering: Over 500,000 participants will perform yoga simultaneously.

26-Kilometer Stretch: The event will span from RK Beach to Bheemili, accommodating thousands of yoga practitioners.

Massive Infrastructure: 1,200 surveillance cameras, 116 ambulances, and 1,400 bio-toilets have been arranged for smooth execution.

Digital Registration: Participants will access designated areas via QR codes, ensuring seamless entry and crowd management.

Guinness World Record Attempt

The event aims to surpass the current Guinness World Record held by Surat, which previously hosted the largest yoga gathering. Organizers are also attempting a new record for 108 Surya Namaskaras, adding to the event’s global significance.

To build momentum, the Andhra Pradesh government has launched state-wide yoga initiatives, including:

June 7: Yoga awareness rallies in every village.

June 14: Yoga practice sessions at one lakh locations, including schools and public spaces.
