The Jammu and Kashmir government has announced the commencement of winter vacations for schools in the region. Starting from December 10, 2024, students up to class 5 in the Kashmir Valley and the winter zone areas of the Jammu division will enjoy their holidays until February 28, 2025. For students in classes 6 to 12, the winter break will begin on December 16, 2024, and will also extend until February 28, 2025.
In preparation for the upcoming board examinations, the teaching staff of government high schools and higher secondary schools are required to remain at their respective headquarters from February 10, 2025. This measure ensures that teachers are available to support and guide students during this crucial period. Teachers will also be accessible for online guidance throughout the winter vacation, helping students with their studies.
The government has emphasized the importance of using this vacation period effectively for academic preparation and relaxation. The decision aims to balance the need for students to rejuvenate during the cold winter months while also staying focused on their educational goals. This move is expected to benefit both students and teachers, providing a structured and supportive environment for learning.
