Over 150 locations across Tamil Nadu will face scheduled power outages on Wednesday, September 24, due to maintenance work by the Tamil Nadu Electricity Board (TNEB). The affected districts include Chennai, Coimbatore, Erode, Krishnagiri, Palladam, Perambalur, Pudukottai, Theni, and Udumalpet, with interruptions expected primarily during daytime hours.

Reason for Outage

The TNEB has announced that the outages are part of routine maintenance and infrastructure upgrades aimed at improving long-term supply reliability. The board has issued prior advisories to minimize inconvenience and urged residents to plan accordingly.

Area-Wise Impact

  • Chennai: Areas like Sembium, Uma Nagar, Muthamizh Nagar Blocks 1–8, and SPOA Teachers Colony will be affected.
  • Coimbatore: Karayampalayam, Chinniyampalayam, Mylampatti, and KNG Pudur among others.
  • Erode: Sipcot, Perundurai, Bhavani Road, and surrounding industrial zones.
  • Krishnagiri: Bargur Sipcot, Oppadhavadi, and Varattanapalli.
  • Palladam: South Avinashipalayam, Velampalayam, and Thottipalayam.
