Story

Khyanikaa: The Lost Idea is written, directed, shot, and edited by Amartya Bhattacharyya, and produced by Swastik Choudhury. The film stars Amrita Chowdhury, Susant Misra, Swastik Choudhury, Hrushikesh Bhoi, Bikash Das, Dipanwit Dashmohapatra, Anu Choudhury, and Bhaswati Basu. It is a fantasy-driven tale where two men—a poet and a painter—claim possession over the same “Idea,” personified as a young woman free of all bondage. Their conflict leads them to approach “Fate,” personified as a man of authority, but they eventually realize that an idea cannot be owned. The film blends satire, surrealism, and magic realism to explore creativity, freedom, and human imagination.
