Story

Magunira Shagada (English: Maguni’s Bullock Cart) is directed by Prafulla Mohanty and produced by the National Film Development Corporation (NFDC). The film is based on a short story by noted Odia writer Godabarisha Mahapatra. It tells the story of Maguni, a bullock cart driver whose livelihood is threatened by the arrival of motor buses in his town. The narrative captures the struggle of tradition against modernization, portraying Maguni’s inability to adapt to changing times and the emotional toll it takes on him.
