As part of the deal, Prime Video will not only stream the brand-new Baywatch reboot but will also make the complete original franchise available to subscribers. This includes all nine seasons of the original Baywatch series along with both seasons of Baywatch Hawaii, giving longtime fans an opportunity to revisit the classic episodes before the reboot premieres.

The new Baywatch series will consist of 12 episodes and is scheduled to debut on Fox in the United States in January 2027 before arriving on Prime Video in its international territories later in the year. While an exact streaming date has not yet been announced, the series is already generating significant excitement among fans worldwide.

Leading the new cast is Stephen Amell, who will portray Hobie Buchannon. He is joined by Jessica Belkin, Shay Mitchell, Hassie Harrison, Thaddeus LaGrone, Noah Beck, and Brooks Nader. The reboot also brings back familiar faces from the original series, with David Chokachi reprising his role as Cody Madison. Original cast members Erika Eleniak, Michael Bergin, and Kelly Packard are also set to make guest appearances, adding a nostalgic touch for longtime viewers.

The reboot is being co-produced by Fremantle and Fox Entertainment, with Matt Nix serving as showrunner and executive producer. Renowned filmmaker McG will direct the premiere episode while also serving as an executive producer. The creators promise to retain the essence of the original series, featuring high-stakes ocean rescues, emotional drama, beachside action, and the iconic red lifeguard uniforms that made Baywatch a global phenomenon.

Originally launched in 1989, Baywatch became one of the most-watched television shows in history, airing in more than 200 countries and attracting over a billion viewers at its peak. The series helped launch the careers of stars including David Hasselhoff and Pamela Anderson while becoming a defining pop culture phenomenon.

With both the classic episodes and the new reboot heading to Prime Video, audiences in India and across several international markets can look forward to experiencing one of television's most recognizable franchises in an exciting new chapter.
