Spain Finish as Runners-Up
For Spain, the defeat ended a remarkable campaign. The team reached its first World Cup final since 1998 and was chasing its maiden men's Hockey World Cup title.
Spain had reached the final after producing one of the tournament's biggest results, defeating hosts and defending European champions the Netherlands 4-3 in the semi-final.
Despite finishing runners-up, Spain's silver medal represents a significant achievement and their third World Cup final appearance.
Argentina Win Bronze
Earlier on Sunday, Argentina defeated the Netherlands 2-1 to claim the men's bronze medal. Germany's title triumph and Spain's impressive run brought the 2026 men's Hockey World Cup to a dramatic conclusion.
