Story

The third instalment of the acclaimed thriller series continues Georgekutty’s saga of protecting his family against law and justice. With Jeethu Joseph returning as director, the film promises intense suspense, emotional depth, and gripping courtroom drama.

Star Cast: Mohanlal, Meena, Esther Anil, Ansiba Hassan, Asha Sharath, Siddique, Murali Gopy, Jeethu Joseph (director cameo).

The film picks up where Drishyam 2 ended, with Georgekutty (Mohanlal) and his family seemingly free from their haunted past. George becomes a film producer, turning his own story into a movie. However, his daughter Anju’s marriage prospects are repeatedly sabotaged, hinting at a conspiracy. A suspended officer, Sahadevan, joins hands with Varun’s father to reopen the murder case, creating fresh tension.

Performances

Mohanlal once again shines as Georgekutty, delivering subtle expressions and emotional depth. His ability to portray a man constantly protecting his family is flawless.

Meena as Rani George adds warmth and emotional balance.

Ansiba Hassan and Esther Anil bring sincerity to their roles, especially in family-driven sequences.

Supporting actors like Siddique and Murali Gopy add credibility to the conflict.

Strengths

The second half picks up pace with gripping drama, tension, and twists.

Emotional stakes remain high, keeping audiences invested in Georgekutty’s fate.

Performances, especially Mohanlal’s, elevate otherwise familiar material.

Weaknesses

The first half drags, with slow pacing and repetitive setups.

The screenplay mirrors Drishyam 2, leading to a “been-there-seen-that” feeling.

The climax lacks freshness, as viewers anticipate Georgekutty’s clever escape.

Verdict

While Drishyam 3 maintains suspense and emotional engagement, it suffers from franchise fatigue. The film is worth watching for Mohanlal’s commanding performance and the tense second half, but it doesn’t deliver the same shock value or originality as the earlier installments.
