Agrita Dhawan, popularly known by her stage name Agsy, is an Indian rapper, singer and songwriter who has carved a distinctive place in the country's independent hip-hop scene. Born on September 19, 1997, in Faridabad, Haryana, she developed an interest in music from a young age and began learning classical singing as a child. Later, during her college years, she discovered her passion for rap.
Agsy completed her schooling in Faridabad and earned a B.Com (Hons.) degree from Delhi College of Arts and Commerce. Before pursuing music full-time, she reportedly worked as a banker at Barclays.
She started her YouTube journey in 2016 and released her independent song “Wasted Love” in 2017. Her major breakthrough came in 2019 when she participated in MTV Hustle, India's first rap reality show. She became particularly notable as one of the leading female contestants on the show.
Her music is known for its bold lyrics, confidence and themes surrounding women's empowerment. She has collaborated with artists including T-Jay, Muhfaad and Divya Kumar. She has also explored acting and modelling alongside music.
