Biography

Amit Trivedi grew up in Mumbai and developed an early interest in electronic musical instruments. During college, he formed a band called Om the Fusion Band, experimenting with blending Indian and Western sounds. He began his career composing music for theatre productions, advertising jingles, and independent projects before breaking into Bollywood with Aamir (2008). His soundtrack for Dev.D (2009) was a turning point, earning him the National Film Award for Best Music Direction.

Since then, Trivedi has become one of Bollywood’s most versatile composers, known for his ability to fuse genres seamlessly. His works in films like Queen, Lootera, Udta Punjab, and Manmarziyaan showcase his experimental style. Beyond films, he has also composed for independent albums and live performances, carving a niche as a modern innovator in Indian music.
