Biography

Born in Tamil Nadu in 1972, Bamba Bakya began his career singing devotional songs before entering the film industry. His breakthrough came when A.R. Rahman introduced him in the Tamil film 2.0 (2018), where he sang “Pullinangal.” The song’s futuristic vibe and Bakya’s powerful voice earned him instant recognition. He later sang “Simtaangaran” in Sarkar (2018) and “Kaalame Kaalame” in Bigil (2019), further cementing his place in Tamil playback singing.

Bakya’s career was tragically cut short when he passed away on 2 September 2022 at the age of 49 due to health complications. Despite his brief stint in mainstream cinema, his voice left a lasting impact, and he is remembered for his soulful and commanding renditions.
