Barkha Bisht was born on 28 December 1979 in Hisar, Haryana, and spent much of her childhood in military towns, especially Kolkata, as her father was a Colonel. She belongs to a Garhwali family originally from Dehradun, Uttarakhand. She made her television debut in Kitni Mast Hai Zindagi (2004) and quickly became a popular face on Indian TV. Over the years, she has starred in shows like Doli Saja Ke, Chandrakanta, Naamkarann, and Sankatmochan Mahabali Hanuman, where her portrayal of Anjani was widely appreciated.
Apart from television, Barkha has acted in films such as Raajneeti (2010) and Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram-Leela (2013), and made her Bengali film debut with Dui Prithibi (2010). She has also appeared in web series, showcasing her versatility across platforms. Known for her expressive acting and graceful screen presence, Barkha continues to be admired as one of the most respected figures in Indian entertainment.
