Bhama, born Rekhitha R. Kurup on 23 May 1988 in Kottayam, Kerala, is an Indian actress best known for her work in Malayalam and Kannada cinema. The youngest daughter of Rajendran Kurup and Shylaja, she grew up with two elder sisters, Reshmitha and Renjitha. Bhama completed her schooling at St. Mary’s Higher Secondary School and Infant Jesus Bethany Convent Girls Higher Secondary School in Manarcad, later pursuing a degree in Sociology through correspondence. Before entering films, she hosted a TV show called Thaali on Surya TV. Her cinematic debut came in 2007 with A. K. Lohithadas’s Nivedyam, where her role as Sathya Bhama won her recognition. Over the years, she acted in more than 42 films across Malayalam, Kannada, and Tamil industries, including Modalasala (2010) and Ellam Avan Seyal (2008). Known for her graceful screen presence, she balanced commercial and critically acclaimed roles. In January 2020, she married businessman Arun Jagadish, and the couple has a child. After a brief hiatus, Bhama returned to acting in 2025, continuing her journey in cinema with renewed passion.
