Bhoomi Shetty, also known as Bhoomika Shetty, is an Indian actress who has worked primarily in Kannada and Telugu television and cinema. Born on February 19, 1998, in Kundapura in Karnataka's Udupi district, she grew up in coastal Karnataka and developed an interest in performing arts at an early age. She completed her schooling and pre-university education in Kundapura before moving to Bengaluru for higher education. She graduated from AMC Engineering College with a B.Tech degree in Mechanical Engineering.
Despite having an engineering background, Bhoomi was drawn towards acting and performance. She learned Yakshagana, the traditional theatre and dance form of coastal Karnataka, and also developed experience through stage performances. Her artistic training helped her develop expressions, body language and confidence as a performer.
Bhoomi began her television career with the Kannada serial Kinnari, where she played the character Mani. She subsequently entered Telugu television with Ninne Pelladatha, playing Mrudula. Her television performances helped her establish recognition among Kannada and Telugu audiences.
In 2019, Bhoomi participated in Bigg Boss Kannada Season 7, which significantly increased her popularity among television viewers. She later moved into films, making her Kannada film debut with Ikkat in 2021. She subsequently appeared in projects including Vasanthi, Sharathulu Varthisthai, Unlock Raghava and Kingdom. IMDb currently lists her among the cast of Mahakali, where she plays the titular character.
Her biggest upcoming opportunity is Mahakali, part of the Prasanth Varma Cinematic Universe. Directed by Puja Kolluru, the film features Bhoomi in the central role of Mahakali, with Akshaye Khanna and Rohit Saraf also in prominent roles. Bhoomi has said that working on the project for nearly two years helped her discover a different side of herself and strengthened her confidence as an actor.
