Biography

Chinmayi Sripaada was born in Chennai and trained in Carnatic music from a young age. She rose to fame with her debut playback song Oru Deivam Thantha Poovae in Mani Ratnam’s Kannathil Muthamittal (2002), composed by A. R. Rahman. Her melodious voice quickly made her one of the most sought-after playback singers in South Indian cinema. She has since sung in multiple languages, including Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam, and Hindi, and collaborated with leading composers like Rahman, Ilaiyaraaja, and Harris Jayaraj.

Beyond singing, Chinmayi is a successful dubbing artist, lending her voice to actresses like Bhumika Chawla, Sameera Reddy, and Amy Jackson. She is also an entrepreneur, running her own translation services company, and has been a vocal activist in the #MeToo movement in India. Her versatility as a singer, voice actor, and social advocate has made her a respected figure in the entertainment industry.
