Biography

Courteney Cox was born on June 15, 1964, in Birmingham, Alabama, into an affluent Southern family. She studied architecture before pursuing acting, eventually moving to New York City to model and train. Her early breakthrough came with Bruce Springsteen’s “Dancing in the Dark” music video (1984), which led to television and film opportunities.

Her career skyrocketed with Friends (1994–2004), where she became a global icon as Monica Geller. Simultaneously, she starred in Wes Craven’s Scream series (1996–present), cementing her reputation as both a comedic and horror actress. Beyond acting, she co-founded Coquette Productions and directed episodes of Cougar Town (2009–2015), showcasing her versatility in Hollywood.
