Fatima Sana Shaikh was born on 1992-01-11 in Hyderabad, Telangana, and raised in Mumbai. She began her career as a child artist in films like Chachi 420 (1997) and One 2 Ka 4 (2001). Despite early exposure, her breakthrough came much later when she portrayed wrestler Geeta Phogat in Dangal (2016), a role that required intense physical training and won her widespread recognition.

Post-Dangal, Fatima diversified her portfolio with films like Ludo (2020), Ajeeb Daastaans (2021), and Dhak Dhak (2023), where she earned a Filmfare Critics Award nomination. She also portrayed Indira Gandhi in Sam Bahadur (2023), showcasing her ability to take on complex, layered roles.
