Gary Oldman grew up in London and studied acting at the Rose Bruford College of Speech and Drama. He began his career on stage before transitioning to film, gaining early acclaim for his portrayal of Sid Vicious in Sid and Nancy (1986). His ability to completely immerse himself in roles quickly made him a standout performer, and he became known for playing intense, often villainous characters in films like JFK (1991), Leon: The Professional (1994), and Air Force One (1997).

In the 2000s, Oldman reached new heights of fame with his role as Sirius Black in the Harry Potter series and Commissioner Gordon in The Dark Knight Trilogy. His portrayal of Winston Churchill in Darkest Hour (2017) earned him the Academy Award for Best Actor. Beyond acting, Oldman has directed films and contributed to music projects.
