Biography

Geetanjali Thapa was born in 1988 in Gangtok, Sikkim, India. She started her career as a professional model, appearing in fashion campaigns before moving into acting. Her feature film debut came with Tina Ki Chaabi (2010), followed by I.D. (2012), which won her Best Actress awards at the Los Angeles Film Festival and Madrid Film Festival. The film was also showcased at the Busan International Film Festival, establishing her as a promising talent in world cinema.

Her breakthrough role was in Liar’s Dice (2013), directed by Geetu Mohandas, which premiered at the Mumbai Film Festival and won her the National Film Award for Best Actress. She later starred in Monsoon Shootout (2013), screened at Cannes Film Festival, and appeared in Anurag Kashyap’s short film That Day After Everyday, which went viral on YouTube.
