Ila Arun

Ila Arun, born on March 15, 1954, in Jodhpur, Rajasthan, is a celebrated Indian actress, folk-pop singer, and television personality. Known for her distinctive husky voice and powerful screen presence, she has carved a niche in both Indian cinema and music. Raised in a Kanyakubja Brahmin family, she pursued her education at Maharani Girls College in Jaipur before entering the entertainment industry.

Her career began in theater and television, with her debut in the Doordarshan series Lifeline in the late 1980s. She transitioned to films with Ardh Satya (1983) and became widely recognized for her playback singing in Lamhe (1991), particularly the hit song Morni Baagha Maa. Ila Arun’s folk-inspired style brought Rajasthani culture into mainstream Bollywood music.

As an actress, she has appeared in notable films such as Lamhe (1991), Jodhaa Akbar (2008), Shaadi Ke Side Effects (2014), and Begum Jaan (2017).
