J.D. Chakravarthi, born Nagulapati Srinivasa Chakravarthy on 16 April 1970 in Hyderabad, Andhra Pradesh (now Telangana), is an acclaimed actor, director, screenwriter, and producer. He made his debut in Telugu cinema with Siva (1989), directed by Ram Gopal Varma, which became a landmark film in Indian cinema. His performance in Siva earned him recognition, and he later reprised his role in the Hindi remake Shiva (1990). Over the years, he became a frequent collaborator with Ram Gopal Varma, appearing in films like Satya (1998), which brought him widespread acclaim in Bollywood.
