Biography

Jagapathi Babu, born Veeramachaneni Jagapathi Chowdary on 12 February 1962 in Machilipatnam, Andhra Pradesh, is a prominent Indian actor known for his extensive work in Telugu cinema. He made his debut with Manchi Manushulu (1974) and rose to fame in the 1990s with films like Gaayam (1993), Subha Lagnam (1994), and Antahpuram (1998). His natural acting style and ability to portray both romantic and intense roles earned him a strong fan base.

Over the years, Jagapathi Babu reinvented himself by taking on powerful character and villain roles in films such as Legend (2014), Pulimurugan (2016), and Aravinda Sametha Veera Raghava (2018). He has acted in more than 170 films across Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam, and Hindi industries. With four Filmfare Awards and seven Nandi Awards to his credit, he remains one of the most respected and versatile actors in South Indian cinema.
