Jyotirmayee Nayak was born on 2001-02-18 in Bhubaneswar, Odisha, into a culturally rich family deeply connected to art and music. Her father, Chakradhar Nayak, was passionate about singing, while her mother, Gauri Nayak, encouraged her musical pursuits from childhood. She began singing in Class 4 and quickly stood out for her natural talent. Formal training in Hindustani classical and light music under respected gurus gave her a strong foundation, and she participated in competitions like Voice of Odisha and Indian Idol Junior before breaking through nationally.
Her career took a unique turn when she became a certified music therapist in 2023 from the Chennai School of Music Therapy. She worked extensively with cancer patients, using music to heal and comfort, which became a defining part of her identity. In Indian Idol Season 16, she impressed judges Shreya Ghoshal, Vishal Dadlani, and Badshah with her emotional depth and versatility. Alongside reality TV, she has sung playback tracks in Ollywood films like Ishq Puni Thare and continues to balance her dual identity as a performer and healer.
