Biography

Karan Johar, affectionately called KJo, is the son of producer Yash Johar. He made his directorial debut with Kuch Kuch Hota Hai (1998), which became a massive success and established him as a leading filmmaker. He followed it up with family dramas like Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham and Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna, earning acclaim for his ability to blend emotions, glamour, and storytelling. His production house, Dharma Productions, has launched numerous actors and produced some of Bollywood’s biggest hits.

Apart from directing and producing, Karan has acted in films like Bombay Velvet and Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge (in a supporting role). He is also a popular television personality, hosting the talk show Koffee with Karan, which has become a cultural phenomenon. Known for his wit, style, and influence, Karan continues to shape modern Indian cinema while mentoring new talent.
