Biography

Karishma Kohli, daughter of filmmaker Sandesh Kohli and Rita Kohli, was born on 1987-03-27 in Mumbai, Maharashtra. She studied at New Era High School, Panchgani, and later pursued filmmaking at the New York Film Academy. Her career began as an assistant director in Umrao Jaan (2006), followed by major projects like Ek Tha Tiger (2012) and Bajrangi Bhaijaan (2015), where she worked as a second unit director.

She transitioned into directing with television and digital projects, including The Mini Truck (2017), the short film The Woman Under the Tree (2020), and the web series Mentalhood (2020). In 2022, she directed The Fame Game starring Madhuri Dixit. Known for her sharp storytelling and modern cinematic style, Karishma continues to be a rising voice in Indian filmmaking.
