Biography

Kate Box was born on 1979-10-28 in Australia and grew up in Adelaide, South Australia. Raised by her parents Greg and Lorraine, both social workers, alongside her sister Sally, she attended local schools before pursuing acting. At age 13, she joined Unley Youth Theatre (now Urban Myth), where she met future collaborators Sophie Hyde and Matthew Cormack. Her early exposure to theater shaped her passion for performance and storytelling.

She rose to prominence through her role as Nicole Vargas in Rake, later gaining recognition as Lou Kelly in Wentworth. In 2023, she starred as Dulcie Collins in Deadloch, which became a global success. With a career spanning over two decades, Kate has earned critical acclaim and multiple awards, balancing her professional achievements with family life. She is partnered with actress Jada Alberts, and together they have three children.
