Malavika Avinash, born on 1976-01-28 in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, is an Indian actress, television presenter, and politician. She has worked extensively in Kannada, Tamil, and Malayalam films, and is also known for her television roles, particularly in the Kannada serial Mayamruga (1998–2000). She pursued her education at Bangalore University and was trained in classical arts, including Bharatanatyam under Padmashree Leela Samson and sitar under Pandit Partho Das. Malavika made her Kannada film debut with Krishnaavataar (1988), Malayalam debut with Daivathinte Vikrithikal (1992), and Tamil debut with Jay Jay (2003). She is also recognized as the host of the popular TV show Baduku Jataka Bandi on Zee Kannada.
Apart from her acting career, Malavika is a prominent political figure, serving as the State Spokesperson of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Karnataka since 2014. She has received several awards, including the Kalaimamani Award, Aryabhata Award, Kempegowda Award, and an IIFA Utsavam Award for Best Supporting Actress in Mr. and Mrs. Ramachari. She is married to actor Avinash Yelandur, and they have a son named Gaalav Yelandur
