Mamta Mohandas

Mamta Mohandas, born on 14 November 1984 in Manama, Bahrain, is an acclaimed Indian actress, playback singer, and film producer who primarily works in Malayalam cinema, with notable contributions to Tamil and Telugu films as well. She studied at Mount Carmel College in Bangalore before entering the film industry. Mamta made her acting debut with Mayookham (2005) and quickly rose to prominence with films like Passenger (2009), Anwar (2010), and Kadha Thudarunnu (2010), the latter earning her the Filmfare Award for Best Actress – Malayalam and the Kerala State Film Award for Second Best Actress. Her versatility as both an actress and singer has made her a unique presence in Indian cinema. 

Beyond acting, Mamta Mohandas is also a successful playback singer, lending her voice to several hit songs in Malayalam and Telugu films. She has won multiple awards, including two Filmfare Awards South, for her singing and acting contributions. In addition to her artistic career, she has shown resilience in overcoming personal challenges, including a battle with cancer, which she has spoken about publicly. Mamta was briefly married to Prajith Padmanabhan in 2011, but the couple divorced in 2012.
