Mandya Ramesh began his theatre journey in 1982 through a workshop conducted by Ashok Badaradinni, a National School of Drama graduate. He later worked at the Neenasam Theatre Institute in 1984 as an actor and technician, before joining Rangayana in 1989 under the guidance of B. V. Karanth. His dedication to theatre shaped his career, and he spent nearly a decade honing his craft before stepping into films.
He made his film debut in 1995 with Janumada Jodi, alongside Shiva Rajkumar, which marked the beginning of his successful career in cinema. Over the years, Ramesh has acted in numerous Kannada films and television shows, including Majaa Talkies. In 2002, he established Natana, a theatre school in Mysore, further cementing his legacy as a mentor and cultural figure in Karnataka’s performing arts.
