Harneet Kaur Singh, popularly known by her screen name Neetu Singh (later Neetu Kapoor), was born on 8 July 1958 in New Delhi, India. She began her career as a child artist in the film Suraj (1966) and gained early recognition with Do Kaliyaan (1968). Transitioning into lead roles in the 1970s, she became one of the most prominent actresses of her era, starring in films like Yaadon Ki Baaraat (1973), Khel Khel Mein (1975), Kabhi Kabhie (1976), and Amar Akbar Anthony (1977). Known for her charm and versatility, Neetu quickly established herself as a leading lady in Bollywood’s golden era.

In 1980, she married actor Rishi Kapoor, with whom she shared a celebrated partnership both on and off screen. After her marriage, she took a long break from acting to focus on family life, raising her children, including actor Ranbir Kapoor. Neetu made a successful comeback in Do Dooni Chaar (2010), earning critical acclaim for her portrayal of a middle-class mother.
