Biography

Neetu Singh began her career as a child artist in Suraj (1966) and gained recognition with her dual role in Do Kaliyaan (1968). By the early 1970s, she transitioned into lead roles, starring opposite Randhir Kapoor in Rickshawala (1973). Her breakthrough came with Yaadon Ki Baaraat (1973), and she quickly became one of the most popular actresses of her era, appearing in blockbusters like Deewaar (1975), Khel Khel Mein (1975), Kabhi Kabhie (1976), Amar Akbar Anthony (1977), and Dharam Veer (1977).

In 1980, she married Rishi Kapoor, with whom she had two children, Ranbir Kapoor and Riddhima Kapoor Sahni. After her marriage, she took a long hiatus from films, returning nearly three decades later with Love Aaj Kal (2009). She earned acclaim for Do Dooni Chaar (2010), Jugjugg Jeeyo (2022), and continues to be admired for her graceful presence and contribution to Indian cinema.
